Southwest apologizes for delays, cancellations; blames technology issues

Southwest Airlines flights were delayed and canceled early Saturday morning. 

In a assertion to Fox Enterprise, the airline cited “intermittent overall performance challenges adhering to schedule right away routine maintenance of some of [its] backend technology.”

“We present heartfelt apologies to our shoppers for any inconvenience, and gratitude to our personnel who are operating diligently to make it up to them,” the airline wrote. “We’ll go on to update buyers whose journey with us currently may well be delayed as end result of the now-solved troubles.”

Flight tracker FlightAware showed a lot more than a thousand delayed flights on Southwest soon soon after 9 a.m. ET, with 179 cancellations.
